In mid JanuaryI received a letter from Santander informing me that the Isa would mature on 1 Februaryas I was expecting.
On the 4th Jan I called customer services to clarify that my loan account was set for closure and this was confirmed.
I contacted customer services and they mentioned that my notices say the account is set for closure, but the computer said I still owed them money. Santander Consumer Usa - Santander purchased my GEMB and repossessed my travel trailer I raised this as a complain, and was told that I would get a call back within 24 hours, this never happened, I called them the next day, and was promised a call at 5pm, this never happened, so at 5pm I asked to speak with the complaints department, they could not give me a reason as to why I still owed the money as they could not see all of the information, but I was assured that by the friday 2 dys later that my account would be settled and my credit reference agency given the correct information.
Friday came and no phone call. The following monday I called the complaints department to ask what the situation was and they said they had referred my complaint to the FOS, which I thought was a bit strange as I never asked them to contact the FOS on my behalf.
Of course they could not do anything more for me at this point. I contacted the FOS and they had no information from Santander.
So I contacted them back and they finally realised that they had made a mistake. There is no mention that the account is set for closure. I am extremely annoyed and confused, why I have this cheque. Are they expecting me to pay it in to my bank to them pay them back they money they say I owe them??
It all seems a bit messed up to me. Looks like I will have to contact them again to resolve the issue. Do I stand in a good position to sue them for one messing me around, wasting my time, two, giving the credit agency false information and three, for a very bad customer service.
